Aspiring pilots in India faced a fragmented research process — school fees varied between ₹35L and ₹85L with no transparent breakdown, DGCA approval status was difficult to verify independently, and fleet details were buried across dozens of individual school websites. Students were making six-figure decisions without reliable comparative data. There was no neutral platform covering schools in India, the USA, and Europe side by side.
We built The Pilot's Compass on Next.js 15 with Turbopack, designing a data model that could represent 55+ flying schools with consistent, comparable attributes — DGCA/FAA/EASA approval status, aircraft fleet, fees, training programs, and location. Google Maps API with advanced markers gave users a visual representation of school locations. A school comparison tool let users evaluate up to four schools side by side on fees, fleet, and program structure. TanStack Query handled server state for real-time data, while Google Sheets API powered dynamic content management without requiring a traditional CMS.
A production-grade aviation directory covering 55+ verified flying schools across India, the USA, and Europe. The platform gives aspiring pilots transparent CPL cost breakdowns (₹35–85L range), fleet details, and training pathway guides for CPL, ATPL, PPL, and Type Rating programs — all in one place. Expert counselling, loan assistance, and visa support services are integrated directly into the user journey.
Core capabilities built into the product to solve real user problems.
55+ flying schools verified for DGCA, FAA, and EASA approval status, with structured data covering fleet, fees, location, and accreditation — updated via Google Sheets API without code deployments.
Users compare up to four schools simultaneously across fees, aircraft fleet, training duration, and approval status. The comparison tool eliminates the need to open multiple browser tabs and cross-reference disconnected websites.
Every school listing includes a structured fee breakdown covering tuition, landing fees, accommodation, and exam costs — giving students a realistic picture of total training investment, not just the headline number.
Google Maps integration with advanced vector markers lets users explore school locations geographically — useful for students weighing proximity, climate suitability (for flying hours), and visa requirements by country.
Dedicated guides covering CPL, ATPL, PPL, and Type Rating programs explain DGCA hour requirements, medical standards, and the step-by-step licensing pathway — structured for AI search citation and Google featured snippets.
Career counselling, education loan assistance, and visa support are woven directly into the platform rather than pointed to external contacts — keeping the user journey contained and conversion-focused.

The platform implements eight schema.org markup types — EducationalOrganization for school listings, FAQPage for common pilot training questions, HowTo for licensing pathway guides, LocalBusiness for the counselling service, and Article schemas for blog content. This structured data improves eligibility for Google rich results and makes the content directly citable by AI search engines including ChatGPT and Perplexity.
